SuperBike Factory Enters Administration: What It Means and What Customers Should Do Next

The UK motorcycle industry has been rocked by the collapse of SuperBike Factory, Europe’s largest used motorcycle retailer. On 20 July 2026, the company officially entered administration and ceased trading with immediate effect.

Operating major showrooms across Macclesfield, Donington Park, Bradford, Bristol, Milton Keynes, and Crawley, along with the online platform webuyanybike.com, the retailer’s sudden closure leaves hundreds of staff without jobs and thousands of customers in limbo.

Joint Administrators from KR8 Advisory Ltd (Michael Lennon, James Saunders, and Robert Halliday) have taken control of the business. With trading halted, buyers, sellers, and service customers face urgent questions about outstanding orders, deposits, and finance deals.

What the Administration Means for Customers

When a retailer enters administration and halts operations, all pending deliveries, vehicle handovers, and in-house servicing stop immediately.

Undelivered Bikes: Vehicles awaiting delivery or pickup will not be released through normal sales channels unless a buyer acquires the business assets and completes existing contracts—a scenario currently unlikely given that operations have ceased.
Financed Purchases: If you signed a finance deal, the contract may need to be cancelled or refunded by the lender, as the goods (the motorcycle) were not supplied.
Service and Warranty: In-house warranties provided directly by SuperBike Factory are effectively void. However, third-party warranty policies backed by independent insurance providers remain valid.

Step-by-Step Advice for Affected Customers

If you have an outstanding order, deposit, or bike currently held by SuperBike Factory, take the following steps immediately to protect your finances and property:

1. Paid by Credit Card or Debit Card (Section 75 & Chargebacks)

If you paid a deposit or the full purchase price using a card, contact your card issuer straight away:

Credit Card (£100 to £30,000): You are protected under Section 75 of the Consumer Credit Act 1974. The credit card provider is jointly liable for the breach of contract and must refund your payment.
Debit Card: Request a Chargeback through your bank. While not a statutory right like Section 75, banks can reverse card transactions for unfulfilled orders if claimed promptly.

2. Financed Orders

If you arranged motorcycle finance through SuperBike Factory’s finance partners:

Contact the finance company directly to inform them that the retailer has ceased trading and the bike was not delivered.
Lenders are legally obligated to protect consumers when goods are not supplied under a regulated credit agreement. Request that they close the account, reverse any deposit payments made through them, and clear any recent credit checks associated with the incomplete agreement.

3. Bikes Left for Servicing or Repairs

If SuperBike Factory currently has physical possession of your motorcycle for maintenance, repairs, or warranty work, the bike remains your legal property:

Gather proof of ownership (V5C logbook, purchase invoice, and service agreement).

4. Sold or Part-Exchanged a Bike Without Payment

If you recently sold a bike to SuperBike Factory (or via webuyanybike.com) and have not received payment, or if you part-exchanged a vehicle:

Contact the administrators immediately to lodge a claim.
If you paid cash or via direct bank transfer and cannot claim via a card provider or lender, you must register as an unsecured creditor by emailing SB*@****co.uk.
