How ‘On Your Bike’ is Rewriting the Rules of Motorcycle Training

Breaking the mould: On Your Bike motorcycle training in Warrington

For many, the dream of riding a motorcycle is quickly dampened by the intimidation of a male-dominated industry. In Warrington, however, On Your Bike is shifting the gears on that experience.

Founded by Angela Davies—a certified IAM Advanced Rider—the family-run school was built on a simple premise: put the student first. Alongside her partner, Graham, Angela turned her lifelong passion for motorbikes into a training environment that rejects the “production-line” approach in favour of patient, bespoke mentorship.

“Motorcycling is a huge part of who I am,” says Angela. “We never rush you to the next level. Whether you’re a complete beginner or looking to step up to a bigger machine, you progress when you’re genuinely ready, not before.”

What sets On Your Bike apart is the depth of experience and the personalised nature of the tuition. Lessons are tailored to your pace, your specific goals, and the bike you’ll actually be riding. By offering both one-to-one tuition and small-group training, the team ensures no one gets left behind.

Whether you’re aiming for your CBT, looking to complete your Direct Access, or working through your Module 1 and Module 2 tests, at On Your Bike the route to your full licence is made clear from day one. We take the mystery out of the process, guiding you through every stage so you always know exactly where you stand and what is coming next

“You’re learning from people who live and breathe motorcycling—it’s not just a job to the team at On Your Bike Motorcycle Training,” Angela explains. “Our instructors are all DVSA-approved with decades of road experience, providing honest, hands-on guidance from your first enquiry through to your final test. There’s no upselling and absolutely no pressure.”

Because Angela is committed to removing barriers, the school acts as a one-stop shop. The price includes everything you need to get started: bikes, jackets, and helmets equipped with the best intercoms. If you need gloves and boots, you can hire those from the team, too.

“Just bring your UK provisional or car licence and a pair of sturdy jeans, and we’ll get you riding the same day,” she adds.

While Angela’s perspective as a female instructor has naturally attracted women who felt unwelcome elsewhere, she notes that the environment is designed for everyone.

“At On Your Bike Motorcycle Training we get a lot of men booking with us too because they feel our approach is less intimidating,” Angela says. “That wasn’t something I set out to make a headline of, but it clearly matters to people, and I’m proud of the community of confident, safe riders we’ve helped build.”

For Angela, the reward is seeing students reach their potential. “Watching someone go from uncertain to riding away with a massive grin never gets old. Seeing those people who were told they’d never manage it finally pass their CBT or get their full licence—that is something really special.”

If you’ve been waiting for the right environment to start your motorcycling journey, the path is clearer than ever. “If you’ve been put off by the idea of a traditional, male-dominated training environment, please come and talk to us,” Angela says. “You’ll be very welcome.”
