Quackers Cafe

Quackers Cafe is nestled within the 100-acre estate of the historic Thornbridge Hall in Derbyshire,  and is the vibrant, quirky heart of the visitor experience. Named with a nod to the resident ducks that frequent the nearby fountains, the café perfectly mirrors the “Never Ordinary” motto of the estate, blending stately elegance with a rebellious, modern spirit.

The Atmosphere

The first thing you’ll notice about Quacker’s Cafe is its eclectic charm. Unlike formal tea rooms, Quacker’s Cafe embraces a playful, bohemian aesthetic. The interior is a riot of color, featuring mismatched vintage furniture and bold decor. Whether you are sitting inside or out on the terrace overlooking the formal gardens, the vibe is consistently relaxed and welcoming.

The Menu

The food is a celebration of local produce, often sourced directly from the Thornbridge Smallholding, East Midlands. The menu caters to all appetites:

  • Artisan Pizzas: Famous for their thin, crispy crusts and fresh toppings.

  • Homemade Cakes: A rotating selection of decadent bakes.

  • Savory Classics: Hearty soups and gourmet sandwiches.

  • Local Brews: As the birthplace of Thornbridge Brewery, the Quacker cafe offers an excellent selection of craft ales.

A Hub for Motorcyclists

Quackers Cafe has become a premier destination for the biking community. It is proudly motorcycle friendly, offering ample space and a welcoming atmosphere for riders touring the scenic, winding roads of the Peak District.

The café is also a key stop on the Bike and Brew Passport scheme. This initiative highlights the best pit-stops for riders, allowing visitors to collect stamps as they explore the region’s finest cafes and breweries. It’s the perfect spot to park up, compare gear, and enjoy a high-quality meal before heading back out onto the Monsal Trail or the surrounding hills.
