Moonraker Motorcycles: A Journey of Passion and Growth
Since its humble beginnings on August 1st, 1985, Moonraker Motorcycles, East of England, has driven a path of remarkable expansion. What started in my (Paul’s) mother’s garden shed has evolved over 39 years into East Anglia’s largest dealership specialising in a fantastic range of machines:
- Royal Enfield (We are the largest dealer!)
- Commuter Motorcycles
- Scooters / Super Scooters
- Small to Medium sized Motorcycles
- Mopeds
The Road from Shed to Showroom
Our history is a testament to tireless dedication and growth:
- Aug 1985 – Nov 1989: The Garden Shed Era. The business was successfully run from my mum’s back garden for a foundational four years.
- Nov 1989 – Dec 1995: We moved to Drayton Road (taking over Bob Gotts Motorcycles). I nurtured Moonraker over seven years of working “all hours” from this location.
- Jan 1st, 1996 – Present: Expansion led to buying out and taking over the large showrooms and workshops of what was then Slaughter Motorcycles. This became our permanent home at 125-129 Oak Street, Norwich NR33BP.
Meet the Moonraker Motorcycles Team
Back in 1985, it was just me, Paul. Today, in 2024, when you walk through our doors, you’ll be greeted by a team that lives and breathes motorcycles:
- Paul: Still running the show and working in Sales/Showroom.
- Robby: Working alongside Paul in Sales and the Showroom.
- Elliot: Managing the Service Desk, handling bookings and customer follow-ups.
We are all keen bikers. The love of motorcycles and scooters dictates our every waking hour. Everything we do involves two wheels, which means the collective experience and knowledge within the Moonraker Motorcycles showroom and stores is vast and genuine.
