Jester’s Diner and Cafe

Located in the heart of Normanston Park, Jester’s Diner and Cafe in Lowestoft is a legendary East Coast institution. Since opening in 1996, it has transformed from a local favorite into a world-renowned destination, primarily due to its “honest food, no compromise” philosophy and its status as a pilgrimage site for those with serious appetites.

The “Kidz Breakfast” Legend

Jester’s Diner and Cafe is internationally famous for the Kidz Breakfast Challenge. Despite the name, it is certainly not for children; the meal famously weighs roughly 9 lbs—about the same as a newborn baby. Packing over 10,000 calories, the plate includes 12 rashers of bacon, 12 sausages, 6 eggs, black pudding, hash browns, and a mountain of sautéed potatoes and beans. If you finish it within an hour, it’s free, but very few have ever conquered this “monster on a plate.”

Why Riders Stop Here

For the motorcycling community, Jester’s offers more than just a food challenge. Owned by “Chef and petrolhead” Martin and his wife Karen, the diner has a soul that resonates with the biking crowd:

  • Petrolhead Roots: The owner’s passion for engines is reflected in the friendly, welcoming atmosphere where riders aren’t just customers, but peers.

  • Perfect Pitstop: Located right off Peto Way with ample parking nearby, it’s a natural stop for those exploring the Suffolk coast or riding toward Oulton Broad.

  • The Menu: Beyond the challenges, they serve high-quality “Big Boy” breakfasts, “Scooby Snacks” (tiger toast with cheesy beans and bacon), and diverse options like rice bowls and waffles.

2026 Bike and Brew Passport

In 2026, Jester’s Diner and Cafe, East of England, continues to be a vital stamp for those completing the Bike and Brew Passport. Its reputation for massive portions and high-quality local ingredients makes it one of the most anticipated stops in the East of England. Collecting your stamp here usually involves a hearty “brew” and a chance to swap stories with other riders who have detoured specifically for Martin’s famous hospitality.
