The Drift Café takes its name from its origins as the entrance to the Blakemore Drift Mine.
The mine closed in the 1950s, and in the decades since, the site has welcomed beach-goers with coffee, snacks, and a perfect place to pause by the sea.
Drift Cafe is the perfect base for adventure in the north of England. We are located bang on the Northumberland coast at the southern tip of the Northumberland coastline area of outstanding natural beauty. We’re the start of the Northumberland coastal path and the Coast and Castles cycleway. Stop in, fuel up and head out for your Nothumberland, North East, adventure!
Our food is all homemade with pride. We specialise in comfort food. Expect hearty portions made with top quality ingredients. Prepared and baked fresh right here on the Northumberland coast. Our coffee is punchy and made with love.
